Queens University: Professional Skills workshop

Yemí was invited to speak at Queen’s University Belfast to Part 2 architecture students about the factors influencing a client’s choice of architect and design team.

Yemí ’s key message was clear: people do business with people. It’s not just about technical ability or the lowest fee—it’s about connection, understanding, and shared values. A successful design team must resonate with the client’s aims and demonstrate a deep awareness of their values and vision.

By highlighting the importance of collaboration, empathy, and alignment, Yemí encouraged students to think beyond the numbers and focus on building meaningful connections with their future clients. A powerful reminder that design is about people, first and foremost.
