Royal Institute of British Architects: Trustee & National Council Member appointment

The Royal Institute of British Architects is a global professional membership body aiming to drive excellence in architecture. It serves its members and society in order to deliver better buildings and places, stronger communities and a sustainable environment. Being inclusive, ethical, environmentally aware and collaborative underpins the work of the institute.

Yemí was voted in as National Council member and Trustee by members of the RIBA.

She stood on a mandate of:

1. Broadening access to the construction industry - believing that a diverse and representative profession is pivotal to providing the best quality of design in architecture and the public realm for society as a whole.

2. Modernising design education for future generations of school children and widening the path towards inclusivity by creating initiatives to make architectural education more affordable.

3. Improving cross-collaboration in the construction industry and promoting recognition of the architects' leadership role in successful design teams.

Yemí looks forward to taking an active role for her Institute and contributing to its future, standing up for architects and architecture, and being a part of positive change.
